About the Club

Founded in 1837, Toronto Club is the oldest private club in Canada, and third oldest in North America. The clubhouse, designed by Frank Darling and S. George Curry in 1888, is recognized as a heritage property by the City of Toronto and the Ontario Heritage Foundation.

Toronto Club is an oasis of understated elegance, refinement, good manners, civility and decorum. The Club is known for its excellent food and wine, and its highly professional service provided by its stable, well-trained and dedicated long-term employees. The Club provides very limited reciprocal privileges with an exclusive collection of distinguished Clubs in the United States and Europe.

Dress Code

Business attire is required in the clubhouse at all times.

Gentlemen are required to wear a suit or a tailored blazer or tailored jacket and dress trousers with a collared dress shirt, socks and dress shoes.  Ties for gentlemen are optional.

Ladies are required to wear a tailored dress or suit, or a tailored skirt or pants with a dress blouse or sweater, and dress shoes.

Mobile Phones

Mobile telephones may be used in talk mode in the telephone booths or the Business Centre only. Smartphones and tablets may be used in silent mode for reading, texting and e-mailing anywhere throughout the Clubhouse except in the Main Dining Room.

Located under 95 Wellington Street West, members using the Club's parking are required to have a parking sticker in their vehicle. Stickers can be acquired from the Front Desk staff.
